Invites for the Apple event have already been sent out for the 18th of October i.e. Monday where we are expecting the launch of a couple of MacBook Pros which will be followed by the launch of Google Pixel 6 on Tuesday. Now, who’s left? – Samsung. Samsung will conduct one of its smaller events on Wednesday with invites for an online event it is holding on October 20th at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET calling it “Galaxy Unpacked Part 2”. The name may be an indication that we will be watching them harping on existing phones rather than the new Galaxy range.
Alongside the invite image, their newsroom post announcing the event suggests we might be looking at some kind of personalization for the existing Galaxy devices: “Our users are multifaceted and live life in so many colorful, interesting, and unique ways. As such, the technology they use every day should reflect their individuality. Join Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 on October 20 to see how Samsung is opening up new experiences for self-expression through technology.”
Now, this could mean a lot of things, probably a new set of color ranges for Galaxy phones or maybe even a full customization option. The image could also be hinting at having customized colors for each side of Z Flip 3. We can only speculate. The Z Flip 2 did give the color customization option for the hinge, although that’s not inclined on the Z Flip 3 – till right now, anyway.

Let’s not get far ahead of ourselves, Samsung are very very unlikely to board the customization program for the original Moto X flight where the users could not only choose from any colour but also materials for their phone, ex. bamboo.
Now let us talk about Galaxy S21 FE. There have been some rumours going around that Samsung will come up with a “lower-cost” edition of Galaxy S21. This one looks unlikely at this point considering that Galaxy S21 is already in a limo with probably some kind of a delay or chip shortage.
Regardless of what Samsung announces come Wednesday, it will be difficult to get the lights off Apple and Google, who are expected to hit out of the park may it be with MacBook Pros, third-gen AirPods, or the new Pixel 6.
With Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday booked. Any late invites for possibly Thursday in the pipeline? – I don’t know, been some time we’ve heard from OnePlus.
