Google introduces continuous scroll for mobile devices

US based search engine bot Google has announced that the way Google search works on mobile devices will be changing and wants users to endlessly scroll just like Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook – all of these social media apps offer continuous scrolling.

Here’s what Google stated: “At Google, we’re always exploring new ways to help people find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. Earlier this year, we launched a redesign of the Search results page on mobile for a more modern experience that’s easier to scan and navigate. Today, we’re making browsing search results more seamless and intuitive with the introduction of continuous scrolling on mobile devices. Now, when you reach the bottom of a search results page on your phone, the next set of results will automatically load with relevant information.”

It’s pretty well-known that most users will find what they’re seeking in the first few results, though when a user reaches the bottom looking for additional information on the first page of results, Google will now load automatically the next page for you instead to click the “See more” button.

“While you can often find what you’re looking for in the first few results, sometimes you want to keep looking. In fact, most people who want additional information tend to browse up to four pages of search results. With this update, people can now seamlessly do this, browsing through many different results, before needing to click the “See more” button,” says the company.

The Alphabet-owned company has started rolling out a continuous roll already in the United States and this one is expected to make it into the other countries soon. It will be supported on Google mobile app for iOS as well as Android.
