Multiple big companies are getting into portable charging, and the need to charge devices quickly has become the norm. The next generation of power banks will have higher voltage, charge faster, and be easier to use. Samsung is working on something that meets all of the requirements for a next-generation power bank that can charge quickly while you’re on the go.
Samsung, last week, put in a new trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for “Samsung Superfast Portable Power” – which was put under the “Battery chargers for mobile devices; battery packs for mobile devices” category.
There is not much information surrounding the rumoured power bank although there have been tips in the rumour mill rendering a new Samsung power bank which might arrive with the much-anticipated Galaxy S23 series. Co-incidence? – hopefully not.
Although it’s worth noting, a new patent/trademark doesn’t usually mean that the company will follow it up with a product release. The South Korean firm has been far from dipping its hands into the portable fast-charging market with its current flagship Samsung S22 Ultra only coming with a 45W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Meanwhile, the rivals have been firing super fast-charging specs on their models with the Vivo X90 series launching with 120W support while the upcoming iQoo 11 Pro is tipped to blaze about 200W fast charging support.
So, what may be coming?
