Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 Pro lineup in September 2023, and new details about the upcoming phones have been revealed by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
The upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will be equipped with sturdy titanium frames, known for their superior strength and lighter weight compared to the current stainless steel frames in use. Additionally, these phones will showcase thinner bezels, made possible by innovative display technology, resulting in a significant reduction of the black border size around the screen by approximately one-third.
The iPhone 15 Pro lineup will also see changes in the hardware design, as the mute switch will be replaced with a customizable button, and the traditional Lightning port will make way for the versatile USB-C.
Regarding pricing, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman suggests a possibility of a price increase for the Apple iPhone 15 Pro lineup, particularly for markets outside the US. He says that he expects a price increase outside the US, and “wouldn’t rule out a price increase in the US” either. Earlier reporting and an analyst note suggested that prices could go up by up to $200 for the Max model.
In addition to the Apple iPhone 15 Pro models, Gurman highlights two other significant upgrades coming to Apple’s devices this year. The standard iPhone model is expected to drop the notch in favor of Dynamic Island, a new design element drawn from Apple’s iPad Pro. Furthermore, the next Apple Watch processor, the S9, will have a “fairly sizable performance bump.”
Apple normally announces its new iPhones and Apple Watches in mid-September. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup is expected to be one of the most anticipated smartphone releases of the year, and it will be interesting to see how the new features and design changes are received by consumers.
