OpenAI Introduces GPT Mentions Feature for ChatGPT Users

OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, quietly unveils the GPT Mentions feature for ChatGPT users, enabling seamless integration of custom GPTs or bots into conversations through a tagging mechanism akin to Slack.

This discreet addition follows OpenAI’s introduction of Custom GPTs at their inaugural developer conference. Users can now create personalised bots and potentially monetize them through the newly launched GPT Store, which serves as a marketplace for diverse custom GPT versions.

This innovation is expected to enhance the practical utility of custom GPTs, reducing friction and boosting overall usage. Industry experts foresee this move as a significant step towards realising OpenAI’s aspirations of establishing an app store for AI solutions.
